Lisa
Diy (born
April 25, 1966 in
Quezon City) was recently
recognized by the
local government as
the fastest judge
in Quezon City, handing
down court decisions
with startling speed
and efficiency. A
Law graduate of San
Beda College, Lisa
honed her songwriting
skills as a high school
colegiala in St. Paul’s
College, playing keyboards
for a band, joining
interscholastic songfests
and composing school
hymns. Coming from
a musical family,
Lisa got her first
break as a professional
songwriter in 1987
when she passed a
demo to popular singer
Randy Santiago through
a friend. She has
since gone on to write
songs for Regine Velasquez,
Melissa Gibbs and
Sharon Cuneta, among
many others. “The
songwriting process
is like a fly in your
ear,” she
explains. “You
have to deal with
it.”
Lisa
has co-written many
songs with fellow songwriter
Chat Zamora.
